Hey Snappy, Welcome to the community! Thanks for the comment on the vids, but that's my brother John and his crew down there in San Diego. I'm up here in Santa Cruz and we get those thick N/NW swells that wrap down all the points. Come on up sometime!

Bit hard to duck up there sometime from Australia but if I'm ever over there I'll see you.Surfed the last 3 days with today being a public holiday for the queens birthday, one of the benefits of being part of the commonwealth I suppose.Surfed with the shortboarders sat & sun because the wave was to fast for the longboarders, but just right for the paddleboard being able to paddle in early and get up to speed fast for the barrells.Today it was sloppy with peaks everywhere, it was like a lottery finding the takeoff spot.To think 6 months ago I wouldnt have been able to stand up and wait for the sets.I'm the lone paddle boarder where I surf so Im a bit of a novilty in my area, sort of like jesus walking on water.Scares the bejesus out of some of them when they see this 10ft board go past at shortboard speeds, especially when its about 6ft.Something I learnt from an advanced driving course was not to look at things you dont want to hit so when Im doing a bottom turn around a surfer I'm not looking at them so thier not sure the first time whether I've seen them or not. After the first wave I'm sure they can see I can handle the thing.
Cheers mate.
