Latest Get Out

Sept 13
Thanks to Surfing sports of SB of giving me a great place to paddleboard, Goleta Beach. I saw 7 other paddleboarders Saturday afternoon. Spent 3 hours on the water calm water, open ocean, practicing stalled turns, Awesome day. Thanks to Thomas a fellow SUP who gave my van a jump start after found out battery was dead! Beautiful night, full moon over Goleta Beach

Sept 10
Two hour long session with high wind and big wind chop, tired me out by tried new positions on the board when travelling with swells, crossing swells (perpendicular to swellls) and going into the swells. Tried new stroke paddling, helped out with planing and keep going straight without switching sides. Spent most of time on open ocean, going into the waves turning around and going with the swells then crossing the swells to work on balance when board Dutch Rolls!

Sept 6 Went out with Nancy, the Naish and the ULI. 3 hours out on the water in windy Ventura Harbor, even the sailboat area inside the harbor was windy! I got dunked twice by ocean swells and boat wakes. Nancy laughs at the challenge of it all, and has a big smile on.

Sept1 Wentout for 2 hr 45 min sesssion spent an hour in the open before turning back to harbor, it was going with the swells that I got kicked off the board 4 times! Paddled on knees and kayak style the rest of the way, lot of wind chop interacting with the swells makng it feel like hula hooping on top of the board. Paddled around inside the harbor to wear myself out with a another try in the open ocean before I put a fork in myself and came out of the water

I went out this weekend and found a local spot which rents out SUP equipment - I talked a
co-worker in to coming along and we had a great time! I fell off my board once - but even that was a good learning experience! Nancy

I started on the Jimmy Lewis 11' alrounder. Was a great board amd awesome to learn on. Its stable and still catches waves. I have a quiver of SUP boards. Each I like for their own use. I give demos and lessons so I usually put everyone on a flat stable board so they gain confidence and have a positive experience.
Flat water paddling for me, SOS Big Red 11'-11'' great board to cruise. For Surf I like the JL 10-8 or the SOS big Blue and the PSH 10-3. Depends on my mood and wave water conditions.. Its all good .What is yout weight, experience and the type water you plan to SUP. PM me to discuss.. Glad to share w/ all .. Glen

Hey Thomas, I mostly just snowboard at Baker. Lot's of long distance trail running as well. Been paddling lately more than anything. My job leaves me tons of free time... but the new baby is cutting into that, but I love it.
How is the Uli? I am thinking about getting one for travel, I am 180lbs... not too heavy am I?

Sure thing, Would love the company. Right now I am commuting back and forth to DC, but when here I go out every day. Is it easy to load slide show? If so, I can load more pics. Where do you go out mostly? I learned in Santa Barbara about 3 years ago but then moved up here. Very nice areas here.
