Hi Art,
The best put in for Foster City is probably Leo J Ryan Park at the intersection of East Hillsdale Blvd and Shell Blvd. From there you can go to the left (kinda East) into a couple of neighborhoods or go the other way which sort of takes you South to a shopping center and many nore neighborhoods. You can go for miles in either direction. It is all very low impact stuff although it is often quite windy in the afternoon. Morninigs are best. The water is cold, on all but the hottest days wetsuits are best.
It would be fun to hook up if you are interested.

hey pat it was great meeting you at the bbq the other nite . i jealous that you are going to maui and im not . hey i was cruzing around on craigslist and in maui there must be twenty or so used stand up boards for sale. if you purchase one and can not sell it before you leave i think we could possibly store it at my mother in laws house or maybe even a friends in hanakauai. let me know . michael
Michael, it was nice meeting you folks also. We'll be on Maui in 2 weeks. Wow! I just got notice that the inflatable stand-up I ordered has been shipped. So it looks as if there will not be a problem with a board to ride. Who knows it may be worthless and then I am back at square one. LOL We'll see. Who knows maybe a used board from craigs list. I'll keep your ideas in mind.
Are you planning on attending the sept big sur get together? I will be there with my wife and new trailer. Hope you can make it.

I'm up in SF - but have been wanting to get a paddle in on the FC lagoon. What are the good loops and put in spots...?
If you're open to showing me around I'd love to go for a paddle.
