I'm working with SurfMaps.com to develop a line of SUP SurfMaps to help us find better places to paddle all over the world. Would anyone be interested in a SUP Map? I want to see whether it's worth the investment or not. It would also be good to know if you would like to invest in the project, or become a partner of sorts. I haven't had a chance to post to the blog all summer so here's my mad recap:



1. I surfed some great waves in June and traveled down to Ventura to surf with my brother.

2. While in Ventura I broke 2 ribs and thought I was going to die.

3. Out of commission for 5 weeks while healing, sleeping upright.

4. Spent 10 days in Oregon at Camp Attitude with my wife and family in August.

5. Played music day and night at the Strawberry Music Festival in Yosemite.

Sam and I had another one of those mystery sessions Thursday morning. I paddled out at 6:45 and Sam was already in the water. I could see him way up past Gdubs. There were tiny peelers at Sarge's, just the kind that will dump you in the kelp. I paddled up to Sam and watched him snag about 4 waves in a row. Stoked. When I got there he told me the rules: Take off is about here, hold on through the kelp and it smooths out and gets zippy inside. He was right on. We surfed there for about an hour… Continue
