I still see many paddlers with a PFD on their board, but no leash. I saw a guy paddle out at Hood River and never came back. If you don't wear a PFD, at least have a leash on, so you can't get seperated from your board. This is especially…

My first powerboat rescue...

I had just finished paddling and put my board on the car when I noticed a boat stuck in the lake. Their engine wasn't working. It was raining and they weren't dressed for the weather. I took the board off the car and paddled it back out. I took the leash off my leg and handed it to them. I forgot to sit down and paddled on the first stroke..lol I nearly fell in the water! Yes my paddles are for sale. Because I'm not doing high volume I have been building custom paddles to order. I have pre made about ten in different lengths and wood patterns mainly for the holidays. So when you are ready just let me know. The winter months is when I spend the most time in the wood shop. Come March and April the wind starts blowing and it's Windsurfing Season.

I was chilled from the time I slipped on the wetsuit (in my garage) til I got dressed again. Actually,I'm still cold. It was a dry paddle, about 2 miles. I didn't wear a hood though. Stuck with the camo baseball cap!
