That's a really cool board. I didn't get a chance to get out this weekend. But I may go for a bay paddle in a few minutes.

I paddled to Ralph's today from La Playa. I caught my first two tiny waves. There were so many boat wakes that it was challenging. I remember back in the 70's we would avoid going surfing when there were lots of boats because of the boat wakes. It's going to take a lot more practice to get the hang of SUP. I sure to enjoy paddling when it's glassy.

a few weekends ago I paddled over to Seaworld to watch their show, and then again in the eveing to watch the fireworks. Night paddles are great - it got so foggy though, we almost got lost.

I also took my board out in the ocean a bit - tried to catch a few waves but was intimidated by the crowds...I really enjoyed being far out in the open ocean water though, paddling along with the rolling swells long before they broke. I think I went almost a mile straight out to sea...

Hi Liz,
? for you...where's the easiest place to launch from to get to Ralph's? I surfed there many moons ago and that was via boat. You said you paddled there from La Playa. Is that somewhere near Shelter Island?
