We are looking to host a 3-event race in the Okanagan region of BC (near Kelowna/Vernon) and would like to see if anyone would travel here for an event. We are aiming to make it a classic event on one of the provinces most beautiful lakes - Kalamalka Lake (see pics attached). It's about a 5 hour drive from Seattle and Spokane. Airport is 10 minutes away from the race site: YLW (Kelowna).

The possible dates: June 19-20 *Summer Solstice & Father's Day weekend
The events: Short course (approx 1 hour), Sprint-Race, King/Queen of Kalamalka Distance race (approx 11 miles)
Other bits: Small SUP Expo, entertainment, awards, exploration!

Because it's father's day, would that prevent people from coming due to family commitments?

We are hoping for your feedback - would you, could you come?

I'm excited about the idea of a SUP race in the Okanagan!
I think many people have dinner with Dad on Fathers day so for many it would be possible to get back in time for that.
Go for it!
I would make the drive... assuming nothing was closer that same weekend!
