North Carolina Trip

Looking for a little help with trying to plan a trip to NC for paddling. My wife and I have done lots of flat water and she has some surf experience, we hope to make a trip to NC in May to kick off the summer. We would like to camp close to the water and hopefully find a very chill spot.

Does anyone have any recommendations on places to camp?

Tips for good beginner places to sup/surf?

Any tips for places to stay, eat, paddle would be greatly appreciated.
