Hi Scott, Nice van did you build racks inside? Florida must be a great place to paddle Flat inland waterways and small surf. So far I mostly I SUP in California and Maui. Check out the paddles I have been building last summer and next batch I'm building are KOA wood paddles that will be unreal.

What's you're address for renting gear? Even my 4 year old son SUP's! He did it with a small paddle up the Hanalei River in Kauai this summer. We borrowed gear from friends who live there in HB.

Hello, Anyone passing through the Orlando or Central Florida area, come by Calema WIndsurfing and Watersports. we have a decent selection of SUP boards and instruction beginning in Flat water, on the Banana River, onto waves in Cocoa Beach.
We have been in business for 25 years. Besides SUP instruction and rentals, we offer Windsurfing, Kayaking and Sailing, and cruises on our new 27 foot Trimaran Ataroa. We have been one of the pioneers running windsurfing kids camps, and have now added watersports camps in the summer that include SUP.

Just out of interest what sort of boards do you prefer to rent out? I would worry about dings getting taken out of decent boards so I'm thinking the soft foam starter boards may be more resilient and also more forgiving.

Jackson...depends on the type of clients and conditions... flatwater + beginners = softtops... if there are waves involved you need a board that will handle and can take the punishment ... make sure you have a good rental contract that will cover for major damages to both board and client ... dings will happen ... apply foam or tape to your paddle and shaft ... cover the rails ... but dings will always happen... make sure your clients are aware that SUP and waves present challenges that SUP and flatwater don't ... if the dings are from normal use you must assume the cost (like a retal car) ... if the dings are from abuse then make the client pay ... make them sign a contract (like a rental car) and inspect the board, with the client, before and after they check it out/in ... Acqua Adventures on Mission Bay in San Diego CA is where I rented boards and got started with SUP. Bob's Mission Surf also has SUP rentals, located on Mission Blvd in Pacific Beach (San Diego CA).
