I'm just starting this post because people always ask me where they can rent a board and try it out. If you have a rental business or know about places that rent boards, add a link to this discussion.

I'm from Hon. Hi. and there's a place in Aina Haina called Wet Feet and they rent boards and sell boards/equipment. They charge $20 for half a day or $40 full day...very nice people and great customer service. They have many makes/styles of boards to choose from Laird, Jimmy L., C4 etc.

I went to Dana Point Harbor recently to take SUP lesson. There are 2 ways to get out on the water there that I saw.
One is to setup a lesson with OC sail, http://ocsail.com/StandUpPaddle.htm I've met both Mike and Tracy. They have a Laird 12', Laird Softop, Ron House 12', Laird 10'6" , They have Kiola paddles. Group rates are 25/hr/person, one on one is 45/hr. Great way to try out different length boards.
Second there is a vendor show sets up a trailer full of watersport rentals, seakayaks and Ron House SUP.

Empire Kayaks (516-889-8300) in Island Park Long Island NY has the Kobie SUP board for rent,it is not mentioned in their web site ( http://www.empirekayaks.com/ ) they open all year.

Main Beach Surf + Sport http://www.mainbeach.com/ phone # 631-537-2716
they offer lesson on the Beautiful Georgica Pond and/or Main Beach,great spot.There is also the Surf Lodge and they do it on the Fort Pond in Montauk.If you are in the Nassau County Long Island area, Empire Kayaks in Island Park which is next to Long Beach offers rentals http://www.empirekayaks.com/ check it out

Hey Woody, I'll be on Oahu in January and I'll be looking for some rentals to use in Waikiki and maybe around the island at other spots. Any suggestions you have would be welcome. Sure would like to demo some different boards than my Jimmy AA.
