Hit Oswald West on Friday here in Oregon, easy head high peaks with mellow glides, beautiful day, summer crowds gone and plenty of room for an old fart, surfed at seaside on sat in small south wind surf , got yelled at because of my stand up before I even went out, yelled back and then went surfing. last early spring a long time local surfer was knocked out by a standup bd not under control . He had been floating face down in the water until someone got to him .so if people are jumpy there…

Ok....my wife & I have just recently gotten into SUPboarding &am now looking to purchase our first boards. We had started off with looking at the low end pop outs like NSP & Surf Tech, but after haven gone by & discussed things with Tim Nolte at his shop, we are now contemplating having him make us our SUP boards. We figured that going out & dropping $2K for starter boards & then turning right around in less than a year & purchasing more advanced boards, that we…

Does anyone own or have tried a SUP ATX board? I am looking to purchase a new board and their $785 sale, new board with paddle, seems unbeatable. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I are getting ready to head down to the Virgin Islands in May. We will be using St. Thomas as our home base and make day trips to St. John, St Croix and Virgin Gorda. Does anyone know if you can rental SUP boards and paddles in these islands? If so, please forward me any contact info you may have.

Has anyone tried this board? I'm a beginner and am looking for and inflatable to learn on and travel with, that is reasonably priced to use primarly on lakes. I would also like to be able to take my 4 year old son along as well for a ride. I've read several reviews on the Sevylor Samoa but virually nothing on the Aqualine Harbor Master which seems to be comparable to the Samoa. Any personal reviews on this board?
Thanks.

Recent improvements include enhanced shaping and stiffening of the side rail sections. Improved color scheme (to replace the blan Gray colors). Vastly improved inflation pump that is included in each Samoa kit. You can now fully inflate the board easily to 10psi or more.

Triathlon events have grown much since I did my first one in 1987.
The event has three venues; swimming, cycling and running.
There are different distances leading to the full Ironman distance which is double of our event.
I have witnessed some island triathletes become Ironman finishers even in Hawaii.
Here in Puerto Rico, the longest triathlon organized was this past December 13th 2009 called Contender half ironman(2500 meters swim, 50mile bike, 13mile…

I never got much paddling in this summer, however last week I scored a nice wave day, which isn't easy in place where we don't get good surf. Waist high waves, light winds, warm temps, and the sun was shining. Spent 3 hours scoring waves with my friend, and we were the only 2 out. It was awesome. Hoping this Sunday is going to bring some more waves again, cause it's flat out there now.

I'm working with SurfMaps.com to develop a line of SUP SurfMaps to help us find better places to paddle all over the world. Would anyone be interested in a SUP Map? I want to see whether it's worth the investment or not. It would also be good to know if you would like to invest in the project, or become a partner of sorts. Let me know what you think and whether it's something we should pursue or not. Thanks!

OluKai teams up with Byu-ti Hair Therapy in Santa Monica, California for a one-day fundraiser to support the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
For a $25 donation, clients and lots of passers-by, received a haircut and then stayed on at the salon for a reception party with catered drinks, desserts, and a silent aution which included OluKai Sandals. The event was a great success. With crowds lining up outside the door, the salon raised…
